Scheduling and Cancellations of the Investigation
Scheduling:
When scheduling an investigation, there are some factors to consider. Preparation time along
property, home or business. If your team has many investigators that are on a "rotation basis",
Decide how many are to attend (with respect to the area, square footage of the building and
circumstance of activity) and contact them to insure availability. With the available
investigators at hand, relay pertinent information about the activity reported and discuss
possible dates open for the investigation, the investigation plans and anything else anyone may
have questions about. Contact the client and inform them of the open dates and see which ones
will work best for them. Reassure yourselves that any necessary arrangements to be made for
children, pets or anything else of concern will take place as per the client guideline
agreement, as well as time of arrival and approximation of possible duration of investigation
(which also depends on present activity). Once the investigation date and time have been
established, call the client and attending investigators to confirm this date again 5 days then
2 days in advance. Inform the client that investigations can be inadvertently cancelled for
uncontrollable reasons and you will need to be notified asap if something comes up.

Client Cancellation Request:
As the investigation date gets closer, some clients may develop "cold feet" and have second
thoughts about having a paranormal investigation team investigate their home for one reason or
another. Truth is scarier than fiction and finding out that there actually is a spirit roaming
around their home causing activity may not be what they want to hear. Fearing the unknown is a
common human trait that keeps people from understanding what it is they are fearing in the first
place. The thought of hearing or seeing any evidence obtained frightens them to the point of
backing out. If this is the case, do not project anger or irritation at the cancellation
notification. Assure the client that its OK, that these things do happen and that if they were to
reconsider in the future, contact you and reschedule the investigation. In the client's file, list
what happened and move on to the next. Immediately notify the would be attending investigators
of the development so that they can adjust their schedule as well.
Remember, we are here to help the client with education, compassion and understanding of what
they may experiencing in their home, business or property.

Investigation Group Cancellation Request:
In the event of when the investigation group has no alternative but to cancel the scheduled
investigation, the client must be notified asap. Yes, it is a disappointment, but unforeseen
circumstances occur in our daily lives that merit immediate attention. Determine alternative
investigation dates for rescheduling before client contact in order to give them
an immediate recourse of action.
If this isn't satisfactory to the client, offer to locate another investigation group for them.
They want help with their problem and providing help is important, no matter who does it. At
least, you were able to provide the client with other options to consider.
Follow up until all scheduling issues have been resolved.
